Pension Transparency SA (PTSA) is an independent public-interest organisation dedicated to promoting transparency, accountability, ethical governance, and member awareness within South Africa’s pension and retirement fund ecosystem.
PTSA believes that pension contributors and pensioners deserve access to clear information, responsible stewardship of retirement assets, and meaningful participation in matters affecting their financial future.
Through research, stakeholder engagement, public education, advocacy, and governance awareness initiatives, PTSA seeks to strengthen confidence in pension institutions while contributing constructively to the long-term sustainability of retirement systems.

Brian Mkhabela is a governance advocate, business leader, and finance professional with extensive experience in corporate governance, financial management, business development, and stakeholder engagement.
As Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Pension Transparency SA, he leads the organisation’s efforts to promote transparency, accountability, and informed participation within South Africa’s pension landscape. His work focuses on strengthening governance awareness, supporting pension contributors and pensioners, and fostering constructive dialogue between stakeholders, regulators, retirement funds, and organised labour.
Under his leadership, PTSA seeks to serve as a trusted platform for pension governance awareness, public education, research, and advocacy in the interests of current and future pension beneficiaries.
